Why become a Volunteer
Volunteering takes up our time, energy and sometimes money. It can be hard work. It can lift you out of your comfort zone. Sometimes if can feel your efforts are in vain, and go unappreciated. So why do you even want to go there?
There is a Chinese saying that goes: “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”
For centuries, the greatest thinkers have suggested the same thing: Happiness is found in helping others. Volunteering brings joy and fulfilment. Are you still asking but what is in it for me. The answer is PLENTY! Volunteering is good for YOU!
